Made In Italy, Wynyard
It’s freezing in Sydney today. Ridiculously so. My Deskbuddy was meant to be meeting a friend for lunch for pizza. Her friend bailed on her. I offered to fill in. Lucky me!
Made in Italy is a hole in the wall hidden away in York Lane at Wynyard. This highly unappealing lane hides away a secret treasure known to few…
A few steps further and there it is:
The menu is straightforward: pizza, pasta and in the shop there is a case with sandwiches and desserts such as delicious looking cannoli…
But we’re here for one reason, one reason only: Pizza. My desk buddy orders a classic: Margarita, and I choose a Calabrese: olives, pepperoni, chilli, anchovies, capsicum without cheese…after sitting down for a couple of minutes, we are rewarded with two warm boxes held in our cold little hands. We scamper back to the office and open up…
My first bite and I’m totally blissed out…perfect thin flaky base, not oily, not dry, balanced by the tomato sauce on top. Every now and then I get a hit of chilli heat which balances the sweetness of the capsicum and the salty goodness of the anchovies. The margarita disappears with my desk buddy declaring it the best pizza she’s had since she’s been in Australia. Yum…
If you work around the city, this is the place for pizza.

I love this place, Pizzas are awesome and the quality is good for the price. We have to get our timing right otherwise the queues are waaaaay too long.
Yum, the pizza looks great. Thanks for the recommendation, I’ve been looking for good pizza places!
I love little discoveries like this!
wow. what an awesome find! i shall spread the word…
Definitely a find, given the cold weather lately…pizza weather!
This looks like a great place for pizza. I love how uncomplicated the pizza is.
A must try by the sounds of it. I’ll have to give it a go the next time I’m in the city.
Thank you, I’ve been looking for a place like this in the CBD and you’ve found it for me!
Right near my office, go there all the time.
It’s brilliant.
Although.. the staff tend to abuse each other a bit hahah
